Green Up Your Facilities

Each building is characterised by its architecture, location and the purpose for which it was built. When designing the decoration, everything must be taken into account, including flowers and plants, which are an essential part of it. In this article, you will find out why they should not be missing from your premises, what they symbolise, and what different types of greenery you can choose.

As mentioned in the introduction, flowers and plants simply belong both indoors and outdoors. They introduce a vibrant, natural element into a space and can have a positive effect on how people feel there. And not only that!

Did you know that fresh flowers are an indicator of quality?

Especially when it comes to flowers in hotels, restaurants and cafes. Flowers and plants can have an impact on how customers perceive the quality and atmosphere of your premises. If you have fresh flowers in your establishment, whether cut or potted, they can create an impression that you care about the details and the overall appearance of your premises. Customers may then perceive the environment as more welcoming, fresh and carefully maintained. The first encounter with your establishment matters a lot, as a good first impression can be highly significant.

It is also important to take into account that not all types of flowers and plants may be suitable for your establishment. Again, you need to analyse how you want your business to be known, what kind of character you want it to have and choose plants accordingly so that they fit perfectly into your type of environment. Some of them may not be impressive, look outdated or simply unsuitable for the character of your business, so choose greenery that complements your interior. Another important thing is their position and arrangement.

Where is the ideal place to position plants and flowers?

Try placing fresh flowers near the entrance to your premises. This can symbolise openness and hospitality, as well as evoke a feeling of warmth and coziness. Placing flowers in a pot in front of the entrance can help make customers feel welcome from the moment of their arrival. Another option is to arrange flowers on either side of the door in identical pots or vases. It then looks more symmetrical. You do not have to worry about large pots or plants, as the arrangement should be sized to fit the dimensions of the door. A garland on the front door can also be another enlivening feature, when bearing in mind that the chosen flowers should reflect the current season.

For the reception desk, designers recommend a tall potted plant that exceeds the height of it. It should be placed on the right or left side. Or you can reach for a variant where you have a vase with multicolored flowers placed on the reception desk at the height of the incoming customers. However, pay attention to positioning the arranged flowers so they do not block the way of conversation or performance of practical tasks.

Hanging plants are also a great choice. They can be placed on walls, fireplaces, railings, balconies or terraces. Smaller trees are also suitable for larger rooms, bringing a piece of nature into your establishment. You can also place small green potted plants in hotel rooms, dining and relaxation areas or bathrooms.

It is also possible to introduce a piece of nature into your premises, for example in the form of natural greenery. With a moss wall, which is a popular interior design feature, your business might acquire a completely different dimension. Instead of white walls, a small piece of forest can decorate the space.

However, choosing the right flower or plant is only the initial part of the process. Regular maintenance is just as important - remove wilted flowers and dry leaves, keep pots clean and make sure plants receive the care they need. A neglected or unhealthy greenery can make the entire space look less appealing.

It is also important to bear practical considerations in mind. Plants and flower pots should never block entrances, passageways or access to tables, and their placement should be safe so that they are not easily tipped over. In restaurants and other establishments where food is served, hygiene should also be taken into account when choosing and placing greenery in the chosen area.

Set up your premises in a welcoming way that keeps old and new customers coming back. Breathe life and character into them. Cafés, hotels and restaurants, in particular, should establish close contact with their customers. These are places visited with the aim to relax, enjoy a good meal, engage socially, and meet the loved ones. Therefore, you should create a friendly environment where customers will feel just like at home.

Green plants, colorful flowers, mosses and wall decorations add value to the interiors of hotels, restaurants, cafés and salons. In addition, greenery can contribute to psychological well-being and create a more pleasant and relaxing atmosphere, helping customers feel comfortable as soon as they enter your establishment. Not to mention the fact that if your establishment is visually appealing and photogenic, customers may enthusiastically take photos of the spot, add them to social media and tag your business, which can attract new guests.
